We had an excellent meeting at Drink Lab, a unique venue connect to Victory Bar on Baronne Street. The attractive bar is set up for 14 people to simultaneously mix drinks, with instructions from the owner, Daniel Victory. He gave us a true masterclass, weaving together history, psychology, and practical advice. Drink Lab events are always custom. They can accomodate anywhere from 2 to 65 people, can provide catering, and can set up alcohol tasting or pairing lessons as well as cocktail tutorials. This is definitely a business that "gets it". Before we enjoyed our cocktails, our partners at the CVB provided updates on Wrestlemania. The main event is Sunday, April 8, but we will have six days of events at the Arena, Superdome, and Convention Center. When they were last in New Orleans, in 2014, they brought nearly 75,000 attendees! This will be a huge week for our hotels and tourism partners. Congratulations to the CVB for their successful bid! We also learned more about Great Delta Tours from our friend and corporate affiliate Barbara Johnson. This 4.5 hour driving tour takes guests deep into the river delta to study ecology, economics, and culture. They typically make several stops, including fishing docks, a Bahn Mi place, and the Bayou Sauvage trail. This is a good tour for guests who really want to learn more. They have an exciting program this weekend, March 3 and 4, to take guests to the Islenos Festival. Contact Barbara at 504-240-0010.
I hope to see everyone at our next event, a mixer at the Music Box Village on March 21. Look forward to the Evite!
