The New Orleans
Concierge Association holds annual fund raisers to benefit
local charities. Silent auctions have been held with area
restaurants providing food and libations and vendors such
as hotels, airlines and galleries donating prizes.
The funds raised at these events have benefited charities
such as My House, an organization which helps single mothers
and children who are homeless and Grace House which helps
women who are recovering from alcohol and drug abuse.
In 1998, to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of Les Clefs
d’Or, U.S.A., the national concierge association requested
that each city with a local concierge association participate
in a fund raiser that would benefit a local charity and Oprah’s
Angel Network. Participating restaurants donated $1.00 per
diner during the month of November which was divided between
the New Orleans Chapter of Habitat For Humanity and the Angel
Network.
